Hello! We support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people in Ireland.
Feel free to look around
The accreditation process is open to all groups within our national network. It is underpinned by the BeLonG To National Quality Standard for LGBT Youth Work which has five core principles that are essential to starting and running an LGBT youth group.
Youth groups that attain accreditation are:
I. Young person-centred – recognising that young people are central to the work and that their rights are paramount;
II. Ensuring and promoting safety and well-being – recognising that the well-being and safety of youth is safe guarded at all times;
III. Educational and enhance the social development of young people – recognising that activities must advance the personal development and education of young people;
IV. Ensuring and promoting equality, diversity and inclusiveness – recognising that safe learning environments are open and accessible to all young people;
V. Committed to quality youth work and continuous improvement – recognising an organisation’s shared commitment to provide and improve quality youth work and deliver high standards of services to young people
Each of these areas are assessed on indicators contained within the pack.
Make your school LGBT friendly and inclusive.
